Hi everyone! Today I put a new pattern on the website. I hope you like it. It's a favorite of mine and I have made many of these over the years.
Here is a picture of the quilt. Isn't it darling? It's a great top for beginners as well as seasoned quilters. I love how many pieces of fabric I was able to use up while I was working on this.
Writing directions can be tricky and I think I have done a decent job.
Working on this web site has been such a learning experience. I am grateful for my proof readers too. It's one thing to write something and I always feel better when I have people check my work.
I know I love to spend time (probably too much time LOL) looking at other people's quilts so I thought I would add a page of my quilts. Eventually I will add directions explaining how to make the quilts. They are super easy and mostly revolve around 2.5 inch strips or squares. I have found over the years quilts with this as the base make up very fast.
People tell me all the time I sew fast and I don't really. I just pick quick patterns to use and once everything is cut I just sit and sew. Over the years I learned to cut everything out in one day and then I can spend the next day or two sewing. I love that part the best. Seeing all those little pieces come together makes me smile.
Now I live in Florida so there are only SO MANY quilts one family can own. Therefore, I donate lots of my quits to various charities in my county. I have given them to churches, homeless shelters, schools and the sheriff's department. There are so many places that could use them. Project Linus is also another great charity to donate to and Quilts of Valor.
If you have special pattern you want to learn you can use that pattern for a charity quilt too.
I hope this helps you somehow to use up your scraps. If they are like mine, they are develping a life of their own LOL
Happy Sewing!!
